Students secure cash prize to develop sustainability projects at Osborne School

On Tuesday the 5th of May my class were invited to do a pitch for ‘The Dragons’ at this years Winchester Sustainability Pyramid event held at Sparsholt College. The Dragons were made up of experts from different industries - they were actually really nice people!

OsJam played at the start of the event. We performed the Queen medley and the Beatles medley, then Olumide performed Homewrecker by Sombr. It was great!

Then it was time for us to do our presentation for the Winchester Sustainability Project. We went into a big room and sat around the table, with the dragons in front of us - including our Headteacher, Sonia White!

Our group was first up to do our presentation. We called ours the FWII which means 'Food Waste Is Important'. We want to ensure everyone at school and their families improves their food waste. We made a funny video to put on social media and everyone loved it. When we were finished the dragons asked us some questions and they decided that we won £500 for our school. Yipee! We had two investers - Jenny Carter and Mark Bottell, both really important people. Jenny is a manager at a catering company and Mark works for GAP Africa projects. We were so happy. Thank you to Mark from Sparsholt for inviting us and organising this brilliant event for us. It was fun.
