SEND Employability Day
Students recently took part in our first SEND Employability Day, held at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton, organised by Michael Powell in partnership with the Lord’s Taverners cricket organisation.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for students to develop key workplace skills through a range of engaging activities. Students participated in a Windmills workshop, explored their personal strengths through skills-based tasks, and took part in interview practice and role play scenarios to build confidence and communication skills. The day also gave students the chance to speak with visitors about career pathways and expectations in the workplace. It was a highly successful and inspiring event, with all students gaining a greater understanding of their own abilities and how these can be applied in future employment. Each student came away with a personal statement and new skills.
