Outreach Service

What is outreach?

Osborne School Outreach Service provides local mainstream secondary schools with specialist support to help them to meet the needs of their pupils with SEND. The service is free of charge to Hampshire schools.

What support do we provide:

  • Consultation with SENCOs and other key staff to offer advice and strategies

  • Observation of pupils to inform future support

  • Support with curriculum differentiation

  • Support in setting up the learning environment

  • Transition work

  • Inreach visits for staff

  • INSET and training in a range of areas

Who are the outreach team?

Carson Elday – Carson has worked in Hampshire special schools for the past 27 years. As well as working as part of the outreach team he is a classroom teacher. He has a particular interest in Autism. He is an Autism Education Trust trainer.

Training

We are able to offer bespoke training tailored to the needs of your school. This could be in the form of an INSET, twilight, staff meeting, training for specific groups of staff or in house training offered at Osborne School. We are also able to offer Autism Education Trust (AET) accredited training. Our training is generally free for Hampshire schools. Please contact the Outreach Team for further information about our training opportunities.

How do I access support?
