Quackers at School! Our visit from the ducklings
On Monday 16th June, something very exciting happened at school – duck eggs! They were carefully kept warm in an incubator, and on Friday 20th June two fluffy ducklings hatched!
At first, they were tiny, sleepy and a little bit wobbly on their feet. But it didn’t take long until they started growing, swimming and zooming around the cage like little rockets! The ducklings loved meeting the students, and the students loved meeting them even more.
Everyone showed such kindness and car, making sure the ducklings were warm, safe and happy. It was an amazing opportunity for the students to learn about life cycles and how to look after animals.
The ducklings have now gone to live with Kate, the friendly duck farmer on her farm. They are Pekin ducks, which are known for their soft white feathers and cheerful waddles.
We’ll never forget their visit!
