Osborne School Kicks Off with a Victory at Football Festival
Osborne School proudly represented their school spirit and teamwork at a friendly football competition hosted by Samuel Cody School this week. The event brought together young athletes from Osborne, Markway, and the host school, Samuel Cody, for a fun-filled day of football, friendship, and sportsmanship.
Each school fielded two teams, except Osborne, who arrived with just one determined squad — but that didn’t stop them from making their mark early in the tournament.
Osborne got off to a flying start in their opening match against one of the Markway teams, securing an impressive 2-0 victory. Star striker Jazmine was on top form, scoring both goals in a dominant performance that had the crowd cheering.
But as the competition went on, the matches got tougher. Osborne showed great resilience and spirit as they faced three more games — all hard-fought contests. Although they didn’t manage another win, the team displayed fantastic teamwork and gave everyone a chance to try their hand in goal, keeping the experience inclusive and fun for all.
The squad — Ziva, Olivia, Sienna, Jazmine and Mia Edwards — demonstrated true determination and camaraderie throughout the day. They supported each other both on and off the pitch, earning the respect of the other teams and spectators alike.
Osborne may not have taken home the overall trophy, but they certainly won hearts with their sportsmanship and positive attitude.
Well done, team Osborne
