Class 9.1 Shine at Hampshire Cricket Tournament
A spirited team from Class 9.1 at Osborne School took to the pitch on the 2nd of July as they competed in a Hampshire Cricket Board Tournament held at the picturesque Compton and Chandler’s Ford Cricket Club.
The event, organised by the Hampshire Cricket Board and led by Michael Powell, Head of Disability Cricket, welcomed schools from across the region for a day of friendly competition, skill-building, and sporting celebration.
Osborne’s squad faced off against talented sides from Markway School and Icknield College, putting in a series of strong performances that impressed both coaches and spectators. The team demonstrated fantastic teamwork, sharp fielding, and confident batting throughout the tournament.
Despite some close matches and stiff competition, Osborne kept their heads high and played with enthusiasm and respect — hallmarks of their sporting spirit. Their hard work paid off as they earned a well-deserved 3rd place overall, a result the entire school can be proud of.
The players represented Osborne with pride, energy, and great sportsmanship, making it a memorable day for Class 9.1 and everyone involved. A huge thank you goes to Michael Powell and the Hampshire Cricket Board for hosting such a brilliant event.
Well played, Osborne!
