Winchester and Eastleigh Autistic Young Experts Panel
On 30th September three students from Osborne School attended the first ever meeting of the Winchester and Eastleigh Autistic Young Experts Panel. Jonathan Loretto, Skye Harper and Liam Bishop joined students from Crestwood, Thornden, Toynbee, Henry Beaufort, Kings and Wyvern at the meeting at Pavilion on the Park in Eastleigh.
The afternoon started with the young people enjoying a delicious pizza lunch. After this they were given the chance to get to know their fellow panel members through a short ice-breaker. They were then able to work in groups to discuss how their schools could improve the school environment for autistic young people. The panel members came up with lots of great ideas for improvements. Jonathan, Skye and Liam are now looking forward to feeding back these ideas to Sonia.
Well done to all three students, who were a credit to our school. They interacted confidently with their mainstream peers and contributed some great ideas. They are all looking forward to the next meeting.
