Visit to The Fountain Café – Class 10.1
Class 10.1 visited The Fountain café last week, a project supported by volunteers and adults with learning difficulties. The visit provided a valuable and inclusive opportunity for students to experience a real working environment.
During the visit, students were able to purchase snacks independently and engage in meaningful conversations with members of staff. These interactions gave them insight into the roles available at the café and helped them to better understand potential job opportunities once they leave college.
The team at The Fountain were incredibly welcoming and supportive, even offering some students the chance to take part in future work experience placements. This was a particularly positive outcome, as it opens up pathways for students to develop employability skills in a supportive setting.
All students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the visit and found it both engaging and beneficial. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at The Fountain for providing such a valuable opportunity.
