River Trip

As part of their WGWCF work on ‘Rivers’ Y8 visited Chilbolton Cow Common to carry out a river study. We were very lucky to have Jen from the Wessex Rivers Trust work with us to explore the river and the environment around it. Pupils took part in a river walk where they identified features of the river. Jen talked to them about how her colleagues measure rivers using geographical skills. Finally, everyone had a chance to do some river dipping. This gave them the chance to get into the river in their wellies and find out what creatures live there.

Everyone had a fantastic time. Thanks to Jen from the Wessex Rivers Trust and Chilbolton Parish Council for helping to make the visits such a success.
