Brickworks Museum Trip

Oskings’ Class BDLT visited the Brickworks Museum in Bursledon today to take part in a 'Talking Nature' day and a tour of the museum from a 'spragman' (the name used by the brickworks of someone who works with the creation of bricks).

The students started the day learning about biodiversity and the habitats of the Bursledon insects and wild animals. The students then went on a nature walk. They collected fallen leaves and twigs to create a clay piece of pottery.

The students then went on the guided tour of the brickworks. The students were excellent listening to the 'spragman' (also known as Richard) as they looked around the many exhibition rooms.

The students then really enjoyed making ‘Bug hotels’. It was the most focused I’ve seen some of the pupils in the whole year!

A huge thank you to Odette and Mary from the Brickworks Museum. Another big thank you Ellie and Lily from Animex International for your excellent presentation. And finally, thank you to Richard for the outstanding guided tour.
